HONOURS
- Recipient of the 2022 Linnean Society Medal (Botany) to be held on 24 May 2022
- Recipient of the 2021 José Cuatrecasas Medal for Excellence in Tropical Botany by Smithsonian Institution held on May 13–14, 2021.
- Awarded the 2020 “Prof. Luigi Tartufari” International Prize for Biological Science, ex aequo with Professor Stefano GIANNI from Accademia deiLincei.
- Received in Sept 2019, Ye-Beg Sew Shilmat (Good Doer) National Award in the field of Science
- Received in October 2016 the Kew International Medal for distinguished internationally-recognised work that aligns with the mission of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew – “to build an understanding of the world’s plants and fungi, upon which all life depends.” The award was celebrated with a lecture in London on 22 March, 2017.
- Received Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from the University of Nottingham, UK in July 2010
