Dr. Rabe Yahaya

Biography

Rabe Yahaya in born in Niger  and went to Belarussian Agricultural Sciences Academy (Gorki, Belarus), Belarussian Agrarian Technical University (Minsk, Belarus) and Institute for Agricultural Engineering in the Tropics and Subtropics (Stuttgart, Germany) of University of Hohenheim in collaboration with ICRISAT (Niamey, Niger).

After earning his PhD in technical sciences at Belarussian Agrarian Technical University, he joined University of Hohenheim (Institute for Agricultural Engineering in the Tropics and Subtropics) as post Doc and lecturer for MSc students, where most of his research works were on Conservation Agriculture and related technologies/machinery in developing countries & in Eastern Europe. 

Thereafter he joined CLAAS and worked for 12 years. Then AGCO (Massey Fergusson, FENDT, Valtra) for 3 years and for 2 years at GERINGHOFF prior to joining CIMMYT under BMZ/GIZ/CIM agreement. After 17 years with the private sector, he returned back to research and international development work in Africa.

He is fan of power & engineering. As a young student, he has seen ENGINEERS as national HEROS, because all around him were designed, engineered and built based on physics/mathematics principles.

Rabe speaks five languages and has more than 30 publications.
